5 tips from book "Crush It!: Why NOW Is the Time to Cash In on Your Passion"

Something tells me that we're going to have a great time together for the next few minutes, so pour yourself a cup of tea, sit back and let's do some self-improvement. Today we are going to analyze the amazing book "Crush It!: Why NOW Is the Time to Cash In on Your Passion" by Gary Vaynerchuk, from which I made 5 cool conclusions.

1. Whoever builds a company in tough times will have a "vaccine" for tough times

Let's be honest. Have you ever put off an important matter with excuses like: I'll start on Monday, now is not the time, crisis, virus, etc.?

Remember: there will never be a perfect time.

Gary Vaynerchuk, author of the book "Crush It!", writes that those who created their company in a difficult hour, will stay afloat, unlike those who faced difficulty for the first time. If it's hard, you'll get through it, and if it's smooth, you'll overtake your competitors much faster.

2. Develop the skill of storytelling

This conclusion is more important than it sounds. Do you like board games? Tell about it in colors! Like taking pictures of beautiful landscapes? Show it to everyone, tell them how you process photos and choose the right shots. If you've been passionate about something for a long time, you may soon be able to create your own product. Well, if you talk about something passionately and interestingly, then... By the way, this is the next conclusion.

3. You can't be boring if you love what you do

If you talk about your hobbies with passion and interest, you will definitely find a listener.  Don't listen to those who think your hobbies are boring. What is boring to some is a whole world to others, remember that.

4. Don't trust the numbers of statistics

How true this is. To be honest, I've stepped on this rake myself. When people create a YouTube or Instagram account, they expect to be flooded with a wave of likes, but time goes by, views go up, and likes are one, two and a handful.

Does that mean you're a bad author? Not always. You just need a little patience to form exactly your audience. Appreciate even a small number of likes or views. Imagine that out of the 30 people who viewed your post, someone becomes your key partner or even husband/wife and changes your life dramatically. How strong would that be?

5. Don't give up when things go wrong

I'll tell you more about this conclusion using the example of an international pizza chain. One day, two pizza jerks decided to mess with the pizza for fun. They sneezed on it, spit on it, and ... in general, did bad things. In the end, they gave the order to the customer and posted their "exploits" on YouTube (I do not recommend the impressionable to watch). Then, of course, the reputation of the network fell below the plinth.

It would seem that here is not washed away, but the management made a smart decision to put surveillance cameras in the kitchen, so that customers can see how their pizza is cooked online. So, friend, always look for the exits. Even if you can't see them, they're there, trust me.

If you really like what you're doing, if you're passionate about your hobbies and you want to share it with everyone, why put it off? Eventually your passion will cool down and you'll regret the missed opportunity. Let's not let that happen, shall we?

Assignment for you:

Create a blog on any popular social network and try to tell everyone about your interests. But don't just share your hobbies, but describe the process of why you like it and how you came to it.

For example, if you really like drawing in a graphic editor, show your work, tell everyone about the tools you use to create your masterpieces, show them how to draw shadows properly, etc.

Why? So you can find your audience, and later on, maybe create your own business related to your hobbies.

Well, if you already have such a blog, share your results with everyone, give advice to newbies in the comments. There are definitely people here who will love your blog.
